A Month of Goddesses: Aadi Velli A Different Power for Each of Her Fridays

During the Vedic month of Aadi, July 15th to August 15th, when the Sun is in the nurturing, watery sign of Cancer, Goddess energy is especially available. Guru Purnima initiates it all by opening the higher Goddess consciousness and showing us how to take full advantage of her Grace or in other words how to get what we want from life. Goddess power, or the divine feminine shakti is available to women and men alike. It is a force and has no gender barrier of who will benefit from its gifts.

At Guru Purnima, Radha-Krishna will lay the solid foundation of the spiritual success principle to strengthen the way for material successes that the Aadi Goddesses give.

The first Aadi Friday on July 22nd features Goddess Durga who starts the Goddess month off by clearing any negativity that is in the way. She is a fierce protector and is also gentle and ready to help out those who pray for her help. At this particular temple, she stands with one foot ready to step towards you offering her assistance. All you have to do is ask.

The second Friday on July 29th, Vadivudai is at hand ready to bless you with beauty, wisdom and guide you in romantic relationship. She is known as the Beauty Goddess and Dakshinamoorty at this temple is facing her giving His darshan of ultimate wisdom.

The third Friday on August 5th, Indraprasadavalli, the goddess the celestials come to worship to gain super power, bestows any seeker higher inner power, drive and initiative to charge ahead wisely.

The fourth Friday on August 12th, Goddess Karpagambal along with Lord Shiva, grants the energy to strengthen your marriage, bring in the lost peace and harmony or will grant you a marriage. This month itself is not seen as a good month to get married but prayers said in this month make manifest very soon. What you do now will surely pay later!

"Shakti Rules - Connect to Her"

Shakti is the primordial cosmic energy that moves through the entire universe. It is the personification of divine feminine creative power referred to as 'The Great Divine Mother' inVedic traditions. On the earthly plane, Shakti most actively manifests through female embodiment and fertility, though it is also present in males in its potential, unmanifest form.

'Aadi Velli' is Tamil that means month falling in July/August and Friday. These days are very auspicious for establishing your connection with the Goddess.

The Siddhas brought the Goddess over to the earth plane to certain energy spots and enshrined them through esoteric processes. The Goddess stays in the form of a rock or statue that retains Her energy. It is important to identify those shrines and 'bond' with this creative Shakti energy.

The Power of Shakti

Her 5 main Power Spots are: Thiruvotriyur for Vadi Vudai Amman, Thirumaullaivayil for Kodi Vudai Amman, Melur for Thiru Vudai Amman, Thiruveigadu with Karumari Amman, and Magadu with Kamakshi

Vadi Vudai Amman: This Goddess represents Jnana Shakti - meaning the one blesses with knowledge. She is also known as the Beauty Goddess. As per history, this is the first temple in the world.

Kodi Vudai Amman: This Goddess represents Kriya Shakti, and assists us in all our actions.

Thiru Vudai Amman: This Goddess represents Ichcha Shakti. She fulfills the devotee's desires.

Karumari Amman: This beautiful shrine, situated near Chennai, is a power spot where one can get the grace of Goddess Karumariamman and Lord Vishnu together. Whereas Lord Vishnu showers material blessings on whosoever prays at this temple, the Goddess Karumariamman showers her blessings on all devotees for perfect health and happiness in relationships. Prayers offered at this power spot also solve fertility issues for both men as well as women.

Kamakshi: In this temple, the Goddess is seen in the 'severe penance' pose as after she closed the eyes of Lord Shiva, the whole of creation fell into eternal darkness. She craved His pardon and started her penance. She represents and is the embodiment of all the forms of Shakti.
